Hi guys, I guess its about to keep up my blogging habits. I have been away for a while, putting up my blog post for like 1-2 times a month. But please remember, my blog is still alive.

My Seoul trip was a relaxing one. Love and I went there between 4 March to 10 March. Seoul is freezing cold but it was a good experience. We planned our holiday in March partially because I need to clear my leave by March, also, it's been a while since we had gone for a holiday after my job change.

Seoul Relaxing!

SQ was having a promotion: Two to go during January and Love and I decided to go Seoul as the ticket was about $1,500 for 2 return trips. We booked the tickets, search for accommodation, booked another domestic flight from Busan to Incheo, bought some warm pack and there we were ready for Seoul. We decided to stayed at Myeongdong as it was a bustling area. The hotels in Seoul are fairly above my budget and I decided to search for an apartment in Airbnb. Airbnb offers a good selection of apartment at affordable price (SGD100+ / night) and you get to stay in an apartment yourself.

Love was excited as it was his maiden flight on SQ. We stayed awake throught the journey as there were many new movies. After watch 2 movies (and some toilet breaks in between), we had finally reached Incheon. Well, the air-stewardess job was to keep passenger busy (asking if we need water, food, help to clear rubbish, in-flight purchases, etc) so that that our journey wouldn't be so boring.

Upon reaching Incheon, we went straight to the bus terminal to purchase the bus ticket, which should take us to Jonggak Station. Our accommodation was at Jonggak Station, a walk able distance from Myeongdong and to Insadong. We waited at the bus top of number 1602. Airbnb owner is a Korean who does speak English and he told us the direction to his apartment. Oh ya, and if you were wondering why we did not bought any SIM card or Data card, Here's why: We felt that their SIM card was really expensive and uncalled for since you an easily tap Wifi at almost any start bucks or restaurant. They do have good wifi connection. Moreover, the owner at Airbnb does provide portable wifi, therefore, all the more we felt that there isn't any need to have one. So you see why I chose Airbnb instead of hotel.

The bus ride was about 1 hr 30 minutes. As we had communication barrier, love and I alighted the wrong stop and the bus driver couldn't care less if we have alighted the correct stop despite me asking. He was showing his: Damned, please stop asking me questions and move off! expression and I knew that he was not helping at all. In the end, we had to drag our luggage 1 bus stop away before we reached our apartment.

Amazingly, Seoul doesn't have lots of escalator or lifts around and you have to walk everywhere by stairs. Even the elderly are not spared from taking the flight of stairs. They do have lifts but it was way too far and inconvenient. With the luggage, Love and I walked up and down the stairs with 10kg on hand and sweating internally even though the weather was a cooling temperature at about 11~15 degree. Now you see why the Koreans are so healthy.

Finally, we had reached our apartment.

The apartment is clean and cosy which could house 2-3 people. It comes with the basic necessity such as toilet rolls, washing machines, utilentils, fridge, iron etc. We rested for about 30 minutes before leaving the apartment to N. Seoul Tower.

We walked past the bustling eateries and made our way to the Metro.

The Metro was never crowded like what we experience in Singapore.

We had our dinner at Two Two Chicken. To go there, go to Myeongdong Station, Exit 3. Once you exit, you can see the restaurant.

We ordered the chicken, french fries and a pint beer. The potion was big and expensive.
If we  had ordered one plate less, it would be enough for us.

Dinner was good, gulping down the beer with fried chicken, keeping my body warm was the best thing after landed in Korea. The weather was still freaking cold in March which it shouldn't have. With a heavy stomach, we carried our legs up to the N. Seoul Tower to purchase the cable car tickets.

Bought the tickets to take the cable car up to N. Seoul Tower.

It was indeed a bird eye view of Seoul. You can see traffic congestion at some lanes and some of the lights in the office buildings are still on.

At N. Seoul Tower, you can buy the locks and pledge your love before leaving the keys in the letterbox nearby.

He must be thinking what to write

You can buy the locks from the nearby convenient store  which sell foods.

Shag face.

After exploring N. Seoul Tower, we went indoor to get some warmth as the weather was seriously freezing cold.

We grabbed a cup of coffee and head home after that.

And  upload a photo of both of us before signing off

Seoulistic Day 1

Hi guys, I guess its about to keep up my blogging habits. I have been away for a while, putting up my blog post for like 1-2 times a month. ...
Happy Birthday Xiong! You are 26 this year. Passing 25 means you are approaching 30 soon. Well, I hate to say his age now as I am the same age as him (means I'm approaching 30 soon too).

As mentioned in my previous post, we went to Genting for a short get-away to "celebrate" his birthday. As it was his birthday month, he was entitled to 2 free nights stay in Genting Resort Hotel. He booked through his mobile and ta-da, it was successful! We booked our coaches through Transtar as they are the only travel agent company which will bring you up to Genting Resort Hotel directly. (Most of the coach buses will only bring you to Mushroom Farm before taking another shuttle bus up to Genting Resort Hotel.

Ready to set off at 6.30am

There was no jam at all and soon, we reached Yong Pin. Most of the coach buses will stop by Yong Pin for breakfast and toilet breaks. The tour guide gave us 20 minutes break before setting off to Genting. We rested throughout the journey and after 6 hours, we reached Genting Resort Hotel at approx 1.30pm. Immediately, we went to the Lobby to check-in.

We stayed the same kind of room as the previous trip.

We dropped our luggage and off we went to walk about.

The shopping mall was rather empty on the Friday afternoon. We walked about the mall aimlessly and finally, ended up in casino, exploring. While Love was queuing up at the counter to reset his pin for his card, I went to the nearby cafe to have some snacks.

The teh tarik and chee chong fan were really nice!

At 7pm, we went to the bowling alley. Love said that it is an illuminating bowling alley at night and it would be pretty cool to play under those lights.

We had 2 games, but I was totally trashed by Xiong. Let's see his score ya... ..

Do i even need to explain further?

I have to admit that he is good at it. After which, during the night, we spend our time at casino, donating money to Malaysia... ...

On day 2, we went to watch The Avengers. We bought the tickets at about 10am as we were afraid that the tickets would be sold out. But before that, we went to Starbucks at First World to have breakfast.

The tickets were really affordable. One normal ticket cost RM16 while one premium ticket cost RM21. The difference in normal ticket and premium ticket are the seats. Premium seats are blue which occupied 2 rows from the back while the the normal are red. Premium ticket entitles you to one set of free popcorn, snack and choice of your drinks.

The only way to cinema.

It was a good 2 hours of The Avengers before we head to casino for more.

Day 2 OOTD

Our trip was over in a blink of eyes. We spent our time in casino more than anything. Though we did not win , but I believe you definitely enjoyed our stay there >.<

Genting Trip in April 2015

2015 is a year of long weekends! If you are planning to go on holiday, the next best travel date would be 1st May (Fri) to 3rd May 2015 (Sun). To all working adults, it's time to reward yourselves to 3 days 2 nights overseas trip! That is how we should be spend Labour day ! *Whee~~* If you think its too rush to make any trips, you may consider to travel on 7th August *hehe*

Thankfully, my love and I were planning to a short trip to Genting next week. His birthday is near the corner and we thought that it would be special to celebrate his birthday somewhere beyond Singapore. We love going to regions which are colder as to avoid the all year round summer in Singapore.

All of us love overseas trip, but when it comes to packing of clothes and facial products, it would be a hassle (Don't you agree??!) Firstly, you have to think of how many clothes to bring, the type of clothes to wear etc. Same goes to facial products!! I have lots of big sized bottles which bringing all of them would only add weight to my luggage. Being a heavy user of beauty products, I have cleanser, toner, serum, eye care, moisturiser and occasion scrubs. Imagine I had to bring all full sized bottles for my short trip.... ...

Luckily, thanks to Luxola, I received Laneige Travel Set which i am prepared to bring for my overseas trip!

The travel set was well packed.

It comes with :
1. Laneige Multi Cleanser

Using my closeup lens. It is kinda of like water gel cleanser. It leaves your skin hydrated and smooth after 1 wash.

It suits all skin types with 4 functions: Remove makeup, sunscreen, exfoliating, last but not least, cleansing. Upon application, you can feel the micro beads scrubbing away those dead skin, leaving your skin cleansed and refresh.

2. Perfect Renew Skin Refiner _EX

Gel type skin booster which penetrates into skin for hydration and tension. Use this after cleansing, pump 1-2 times and apply on the skin.

3. Perfect Renew Emulsion_EX

Lotion with the watery effect which reduces dry skin and aging. It helps to keep your skin moist and smooth everyday! After application, you can see the differences after I applied the product on the back of my hand. You can use this after skin refiner.

Before application. The skin of my hand is so dry! You can see fine lines under the lens.

After application. You can still see the lines but it wasn't as obvious as the one before.

4. Perfect Renew Essence _EX

The essence helps to prevent premature aging and helps your skin looks more contoured. In order to see the effects, I believe in applying the product correctly and accordingly. Interesting, Laneige does provide information on their website on how to apply the essence.

5. Perfect Renew Skin_EX

Perfect Renew Skin helps to take care on the first step of aging. The first signs of aging starts usually at 25. Well, it is already happening to me when I find myself having smile lines just one fine day. This cream could possibly help me to reduce my smile lines from becoming obvious haha. It aids in dry skin, basics cause of skin trouble, leaving them smooth and moist.

It was back dated almost 1 month ago when it was a festive season. During that period, it was 5 full days of holiday where all of us would visit our own family (especially hometown in Malaysia). Xiong's mum was from Malaysia and she would go back to celebrate CNY with her family. This year, Xiong, his brother, sister in law and me went together to visit his mum at her place.

It was an impromptu activity since it was rare that all of us were available.

Journey to Pengerang

Pengerang is a small town located near Johor. It is about 2 hours route trip (depending on road condition) from Singapore Custom. It was a pleasant drive as we drove through the windy route, passing by huge area of plantations and barren land. I kept myself wide awake throughout the journey as it was my first time visiting his mum hometown. I was really excited.

As it was a one way route, we had hard time over taking the other cars who were speeding. To make the matter worst, some lorries turned into your lane and was cruising at 80km/hr. Oh well, too bad! We were only able to follow behind those lorries. However, all of us were finding the best chance to over one another haha.

After 3 hours of drive, we finally reach Pengarang. Before we went knocking to his uncle's house, we decided to stop by Ostrich Farm for a short tour. The ticket was RM18 per adult. Xiong's brother wasn't interested in Ostrich, so he was the only one waiting outside while the rest of us went in for a visit.

Beside looking at ostrich, they served their meat and egg. How on earth would i dare to eat them after touring the farm?! I wouldn't have the heart to eat them. Also, these delicacies are just not my cup of tea.

 Entering the farm... ...

They segregate the young ostriches from the adult. The picture above are ostriches which were 3 weeks old. They were pecking the wooden, metal grills non stop. If you put your hand near, they will peck your hands too. The uncle at the farm told me that it was okay to let them peck as it doesn't hurt. Then he demonstrates.... He was enthusiastically encouraging us to let them peck.

Xiong was brave enough to do so... and he led me doing it too. Sure enough, it was painless but the feeling of being peck is definitely weird and beyond description...

This little guy trying to 抢镜头。

They are ever ready to peck your hands. See the 2 of them which were aiming for his fingers.

Happy ostrich smiling for the camera

The adult ostrich are really huge! I do feel intimidated when they were looking at me, felt like that would attack me any time haha. I do hear horror stories of them being aggressive towards humans which explained why I wouldn't go too close to them initially.

Selfie with the ostrich. They love taking selfie too!

There were 2 ostriches which were outside roaming freely. For a while, i thought their ostriches went loose and i had almost wanted to tell the staffs to enclose them. After which i realised that they were let loose on purpose, so that tourist can take photos with them. The ostrich were specifically trained so they were not aggressive at all.

Manage to take a photo with one of them. My pose wasn't natural as i was prepared to run anytime if the animal went berserk.

After 1 hour, we went to meet Chris and headed straight to his uncle's house after that.

They had a huge front and backyard. Best for children who needed ample space to run.

There were 10 over dogs coming to greet us when we got off the car. If you are afraid of dogs, you might want to avoid or run away as far as you can. Those were stray dogs but were kept by Xiong's uncle who took great care of them well.

The hometown is serene, One of the best place to dwell if you want to get far from city, far from those highly populated area. No wonder his brother loved this place. I can see why.

The puppy which was always bullied by its peers

His mum was really happy to see us coming. After exchanging greetings, we sat at the backyard, enjoying the breeze and conversations, which we did not expect such quality time together.

Big boss on hammock

Besides us is a mini lotus pond, though no frogs on the lotus leaves but its presence does make the whole place tranquil. There were a few hammocks tied to the trees but i did not lie on any of them. I had an image to maintain haha.

Also, just located next to their old house, there is a fish farm too, breeding marble goby. If you know soon hock, you will know marble goby is the English word for it. This type of fish is expensive and could fetch a high price depending on its weight. During dinner, his uncle caught 2 of it and requested the restaurant to cook. It was the best marble goby i had so far!

Inside the mini fish farm. I believed i was looking at the spider web.

A photo to remember this place as I heard that the government is taking over the land for other uses.

Took a close up selfie.

After which, we had dinner at...

According to his mum, this restaurant served the most affordable seafood around that area, The food was really palatable and good!!

The fish which was caught just now

After dinner, all of us went back for Blackjack. Blackjack definitely helped us to pass time quickly, I wasn't good in gambling so I do not really know how to play or calculate the points. It came to the point that I do not know what to do even when I had 2 aces. But anyway, it was always fun spending time with his family.

Happy hours doesn't last long. At 10pm, the four of us left Pengerang, feeling happy and satisfied, spending a day with their family during CNY.
