My Life: Staycation

Can't seem to remember the last time i had a good sleep. During my pregnancy, I had been waking every nights to go to the toilet. Beside my own bed, toilet was my next best friend.

And a few months had passed, Baby Rayner is going 6 months tomorrow. Looking back at my blog, i have not updated anything during my maternity leave. Everyday passed so quickly that i never keep track of anything. Baby Rayner occupies 90% of my time everyday and 10% of time dedicated to do housework. I can't seem to also remember the last time i had constructive conversations with my husband. During our free time when baby is sleeping, we hardly ever talk like we used to because it was only free time we had our own me-time. But that doesn't make me or him love each other lesser. Our once-romantic love had evolved into 'being responsible and commitment' love.

This is family. And having a family is happy and tiring.

So, I had returned to work last month and never had been even busier. And all the more busier as company is still implementing the WFM policy.

But first, Happy soon to be 6th Month to Baby Rayner.

Wonder who he takes over more

Baby Rayner is growing well. During the last jab , Doctor said that he was 7.4 kg and 66 cm. He is a 75th percentile which makes him a big baby. Doc was kind enough that he didn't use the word : Fat. Well, almost everyone who sees him says that he is chubby. Those are just kind words and we appreciate that.

Most of the time he is a good boy. He only fuss when he wants milk and sleep. I latches him to sleep which all the more makes me tired but i guess this is all worthwhile. I can't shy away from mom duties just because im tired right? Afterall, breastmilk is the best food for him and i hope to provide him up till 1 year old. I am halfway through breastfeeding journey and i am hanging on. I heard from many moms that they missed latching their babies because they do not latch anymore when they are older. To be honest, my breastfeeding journey is not easy and there are many times i wanted to give up. Having a supportive hubby and environment really help to spur you on the tough journey. I do agree that breastfeeding is a lonely journey, but with the right encouragement, i made it though for the first few months. I am also glad that i have a baby who knows how to suck.

Tummy time

Baby Rayner is learning to flip but with countable successful attempts. He like to have fun and will laugh at silly mimics. His laughter is so innocent and infectious. Mum and dad just smile because you do. During the past months, i have been re-packing his clothes again and again, putting away those small ones and washing up the bigger sizes. He is no longer an infant and it makes me miss those days. Now i understand why everyone say : wah so fast!

To everyone's eye, it is an overnight thing but to parents like us, it is the days and nights which we went through, the hard times when baby refuses to sleep or drink, the days when we had to bath him and re-bath him because he pee in the bath tub, the clothes we have to wash almost daily to ensure he has fresh clothes etc. But it was all fun.

We celebrated my hubby birthday at Mariott South Bridge in April. Hope my hubby did enjoy himself. It was a 3 days 2 night to wind down from our busy life.

Last month love booked a staycation st MBS on my birthday. I was feeling so excited since it been a while had staycation for my birthday.

We had a great time though i had to make him sleep at night.

He loves it when dad carries him like this. He is one such lovable boy. He seems easy going enough and does not afraid so strangers (so far). He loves to explore and always looking for daddy to have fun.

Now as a mum, my perspective of what a family needs is stability. I love my hubby and son to the core. Nothing beats the comfort a home even if you have a bad day. And i hope Baby Rayner will grow up in a happy, warmth and safe environment. Mum and dad will always be there for you.

And to my hubby who (maybe doesn't) read my blog. Thanks for the nice stayca. It costs a bomb but even so, after so many years, you still continue to splurge on me. Love you since Day 1 and more. You have been a great dad since Baby born

Coming to 5th Month

I love staycation. I love getting away from the noise pollution at home and some privacy with my husband.

I was searching for staycation deals and I knew that Safra has some joint promotion with the Millennium Group. If your boyfriend /husband is a Safra menber, you can go to the website and view their current list of promotions. They have staycation deals at Copthorne King's Hotel at $190 nett in a night stay in Superior Room with a pair of movie passes, Studio M Hotel at $212 nett per night stay with a pair of movie passes etc. I was looking if they have any promotion at M Social Singapore but unfortunately, there was no promotion. But anyway, we wrote in to them to see if there is a better rates for Safra members. The rates given by them were slightly cheaper (maybe about $10 cheaper?) with breakfast included at about $240 per night.

We went ahead with it since it's been a while since we went for a get-away.

M Social is situated at Robertson Quay and among the hotels under Millennium Group. It is a great place to chill and relax and the night view was awesome.

The lobby was really small as they can only serve 4 customers at one time. Almost all of the guests are young adults. Some of them check in as a couple while many others, came to celebrate hen's night or just a simple gathering with friends.

Love and I booked a room at Loft gallery. I felt in love with the the tall ceiling and chic layout shown on the website. We felt that the price was reasonable and so we proceed with the booking.

The check in time was 3pm, and their check out time was 12pm. Our room was at level 9 and right at the end of the corridor. The room was really posh and comfortable that you wouldn't want to leave the room once you were inside. The TV is at the upper deck and was separated from the rest area.

The toilet is a panel of see through glass but rest assured that you can turn the blind on inside. The vanity is outside the toilet so you just have to brush or wash your hands in the living hall.

Opposite us is a residential building. with a nice pool when you looked down from our window.

What I like about M Social is the luxury decor and high ceiling. The bed was also comfy and I had a good sleep throughout the night. I slept at 11.30pm and woke at 8am. It was really shiok! The TV has sports channel, so in case your husband/ boyfriend want to watch their soccer at night, they can go to the upper deck to watch and cheer without disturbing you.

The variety for breakkie wasn't that sumptuous but it was good enough for a boutique hotel. Breakfast is at Beasts and Butterflies.

The pastry is good.

If you are going there by car, do note that they do not have free parking. Xiong paid below $20 for an overnight parking.

M Social Singapore [ Loft Gallery] Staycation

I love staycation. I love getting away from the noise pollution at home and some privacy with my husband. I was searching for staycation...

Coming to an end of Dec 2015, I have gotten busier, fatter and happier?

Perhaps not so much on the 'happy' part because I am getting older, but some things should be worth celebrating!

And Ahem.... I am getting married in 2017 January. My love and I had the dates already but sadly, it will fall on a Thursday. It will definitely be a small event and only those people who I care will be invited. Shall slowly reveal and blog on more wedding stuffs next year.

And oh well, my mum and I are back from Port Dickson ! What a short trip!

Port Dickson is about 4-5 hours drive from Singapore. The whole ride has been smooth. Everyone was trying to grab some rest as all of us woke up to an early morning. We gathered at Punggol at 6.30am waiting for the coach to arrive.

Couldn't take more photos as I was trying to nap throughout the journey. The after effect from going home late night on TGIF. We roamed the shopping mall for about an hour, got our stuffs from supermarket and head to the coach again.

The resort is about 1.5 hours from the shopping mall...

In case you are wondering where we stayed... we had our 3 days 2 nights at

Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson

Can you see that the cabins were the outline of a hibiscus? For your info, hibiscus is the national flower of Malaysia.

There are more than 400 cabins in the resort. And near the cabins, a hotel is built nearby which allow us to take the lift up to level 7 to take the scenic view. But, part of the hotel is still under construction.

The lobby is spacious. From time to time, there will be some performance there.

The hotel reception is far from all the cabins. One will have to call for a buggy to fetch hotel guests to and fro from your accommodation. However, their service is superb as the waiting time for the buggy is only 10-15 minutes. When it rains, it was a hassle as they did not have a lot of buggy or manpower to fetch all hotel guests back,. But all these doesn't matter as you are supposed to take your time slow in a resort.

The 8 of us can sit on a buggy comfortably. With this, they can easily fetch 2-3 room guests to their room.

I was so excited about their room, as I heard that they had a indoor jacuzzi. How often do you see an indoor jacuzzi in Singapore? You will only get them if you are willing to pay $1,000+ and above.

2 large beds which can be shared by 6 people easily. I have so much space to open my luggage and putting other barang barang. We were given 4 complimentary soft drinks as welcome drink. If you are intending to go there, please note that you can have them for free. But of course, the soft drinks are not refillable haha.

The transparent glass which most adults were afraid to walk over. But it is definitely safe to walk and lie on haha. The seawater is somehow green. Imagine it is in blue, I could stay there a little longer.

1 cubicle and 1 showering area. There were no locks, so .. no peeping please.

Dinner came too soon and we went out for dinner.

The Thai food was so delicious! It is about 30 minutes from the resort.

The next day, we didn't have much activities going on, ended up soaking ourselves in the pool.

Last but not least.. the sunset view..

Lexis Hibiscus is a place worth going if you love the sea and nature or when you would like to avoid crowded area. There's nothing much to do there except relaxing yourself in the room or cycling around the resort. They do rent bicycle to guests at a cost of RM10 for half an hour.

Of course, such luxury stay-cation doesn't come cheap though they are slightly cheaper than hotel rates in Singapore. One night in the cabin cost about SGD 500 and above. They are a new resort and accordingly to the tour guide, they started operation only in April 2015.

Happy Chinese New Year to all of you. Seriously speaking, every year of 初一 i would be free in the morning. All of my relatives will be busy visiting their relative while my family would only meet up and have dinner on Eve and 初一. That was why I am blogging now.

And... Last weekend was Valentines' Day and Love had planned a staycation at Mandarin Orchard. It was my 2nd /3rd staycation (had previously stayed at Siloso Beach, Grand Copthorne Hotel). However, love had planned another surprise for me on the day before Valentines.

Last Friday, love sent a message to me, telling me to stay in office at all times and ask my colleagues to take turns to buy lunch. My initial thought was: Was the haze that bad that i need to say indoor? But after deciphering the emocon on his message, i realised that i was supposed to stay in office for good. And true enough, someone came knocking on the door and... ...

sent the bouquet to my hands.

I was so elated to receive the enchanting red roses. Attached was a his hand-written card which says Happy 3rd Anniversary. I counted and there were 11 of them, Did a google and it says: Be my sweetheart. Yes, I am ! Haha.

After work, Xiong came to pick me up. With the red roses on my hands, I hugged him real tight and gave him a peck on his lips. It's all these small little things which brighten my day no matter how bad it was a day at work (I did not have a bad day but it was just a saying).

Thank you love.

And the next day, we went to Mandarin Orchard.

These are photos of a Premier room. They have all the basic you need. They have new movies on their TV but at a cost of $18 per movie. Also, they have adult movies! At a cost of $18 too. The room was on the 25th floor but the scenery wasn't that good. It was facing the side of Takashimaya and the back of Orchard. The room cost about $300+ per night on a Valentines' Day promotion, which comes with a box of chocolate.

At 6.30pm, love had arranged dinner at Triple Three. They serve buffet style with good variety of foods. As it was a V-day special, there was a rose on most of the table.

They had Japanese (sushi and sashimi), Indian (prata, naan and curry), Seafood (Lobster, crab, mussel, etc), Western (pasta, mashed potato, ham, etc), and more. Did not have a great shot of the foods as we were busy eating away.

They also have a good range of desserts and they were all so cute and exquisite.

Very pretty isn't it? You can see heart-shaped cookies everywhere and the colour of red and pink, Romantic to the max!

After dinner, it wasn't long after love fell asleep while i was watching TV. He left me to watch TV alone until 12am when it was airing The Devil Wears Prada. I had managed to convince him that it was a superb show (definitely it was, starring Meryl Steep and Anne Hathaway).

The next day, we woke up at 8,30am, having our breakfast at 9am and checked out at 11am.

We spent our Sunday watching The Kingsmen before we head home to wash my clothes.

Then again, thanks love for the staycation though it was only 2 days 1 night. We can't afford this type of luxury every year but i hope the love we share will always stay. Happy 3rd Year anniversary!!
