Hi everyone! Happy New Year! This is my first post in 2015 and perhaps, my last few posts before i go Taiwan  (with my bro and love, yeah!). I won't be in Singapore for a week * Excited for my holiday*. Its been a while since i traveled that far. Hope that i can have a peaceful trip this time. *Finger-cross*.

I had recently went to this cafe: Artistry Cafe  with my babes. Every meetup is a new opportunity for visiting new cafes in Singapore. This time, we went to Artistry Cafe.

They might have change the menu ( Saw their goodbye brunch on their facebook) but still, i shall have a short blogpost of it.

Like most of the cafes i visited, Artistry is a small scale cafe located at 17 Jalan Pinang in Central Singapore. The unique thing about them is that they have combined the art gallery and cafe, generally for art appreciation. You can see, its " Art Around You".

They have few choices of food:

Menus are very important, aren't they?

Sad enough, Eggs on Toast was already sold out during lunch and left me no choice but to take Big Breakfast (I was hungry). Les and Jas had Shredded Duck Confit Croissant.

Big Breakfast

The bread tasted great so as the sausage. But Artistry Cafe offers spinach which i like as compared to other cafes who have salad (those with purple cabbage and vinegar and olive oil).

Shredded Duck Confit Croissant

The duck was really well cook! A good dish actually if you prefer something light.

They do serve alcoholic drinks, desserts but again, we did not try any. If I'm back there, i would love to try the desserts ^^.

A Short Post [Artistry Cafe]

Hi everyone! Happy New Year! This is my first post in 2015 and perhaps, my last few posts before i go Taiwan  (with my bro and love, yeah!)....
I had actually forgotten to wish my best friend "Happy Birthday"! My god, I was really getting old.

As usual, my babes and i would never fail to meet up on each other's birthday. This time, we visited Two Bakers.

Two Bakers seems to be a new cafe which was opened only recently. Located conveniently just opposite Jalan Besar Stadium, it was not difficult to find the cafe as it was a short 5 minutes walk from Lavender MRT. Along Horne Road, you can easily spot a few other cafes located closely to one another. You can hop from one place to another just by foot.

At one glance, Two Bakers is a pretty small and neat cafe yet filled with cosy atmosphere. A place which i felt quieter than other cafes and is a good hangout with friends. There was no queues at 12pm despite not making an reservations. Perhaps we were later than usual.

Isnn't it a good place for hangout and chat over coffee?

I personally love going to 'not' so crowded cafes as they are much quieter and serene. What's more important is that i felt that i am comfortable with the spaces between me and the other patrons (unlike places like Tim Ho Wan where i could feel the body heat from the guy sitting next to me). I could enjoy my coffee and dining experiences so much that i felt it was home to me (of course i would leave if i saw long queues outside their shop ).

I had taken a photo of the menu (like i always did to most of the cafes i visited). To some of us, price is a issue whenever we visit cafes?

Prices are reasonable and you will leave this place with a full stomach. And those of you who are a little conscious on GST and Service Charge, Two Bakers doesn't charge you for any of it. There are GST and Service Charge free!

I had a Two Bakers Petite Breakfast
and
a cup of

My babes had...

French Toast with Sweet Caramelised Banana which was really good to start your day.
and

Egg with smoked Salmon

Does all these look delicious to you?

I could have order a few deserts but such hearty breakfast left me with no spaces in my stomach. It is a pity that i couldn't get to eat those beautiful desserts again in whatever cafe i was at. And if you have no idea how beautiful their desserts are, let me show you :

" Inspired by time-honoured recipes..... Two Bakers have created numerous best-sellers including moist carrot cake, dainty Eclairs with dark chocolate and salted caramel fillings ... ..."

Carrot cake

All the desserts look alluring but i just couldn't bring myself to buy either one of the slices. My stomach wasn't too happy with me if i was to get her something.

But nevertheless,  this is one cafe where i know i will be going back for more, thanks to the accessibility of transport and the availability of the seats (as for now).

My Love had finally sold his car!! Can't imagine how great the happiness i'm feeling x.x It's not that i 衰 him, i just felt that his car was a huge liability. The maintenance fee, the petrol, road tax and insurance fee, definitely cost him a lot. Now that his car was sold, his studies were completed, he is almost liability free. I'm happy for you!!

Taking public transport is not a problem ok?! Bear in mind that many of us commute to work everyday.

Alright! Anyway, on the day before he sold his car, we had a nice brunch at Baker and Cook

Baker and Cook

Baker and Cook is situated among those terraced houses in Bukit Timah. We were there about 10am and you can see morning joggers, neighbours chatting and walking their dogs. It felt like a nice and friendly neighbourhood.

It could be due to the inaccessibility of the place (there was no queues), we were able to get the seats easily.

It is a small and cosy cafe where you will be surrounded by foods~. Its like you get to see, pick and choose those pretty, appealing cakes at the counter. This concept reminds me of Choupinette (if you been there before, or you can read on there).  They have a wide variety of load breads, pastries, sweet buns, cake and slices, tarts, sandwiches and packaged products.

See how the counter girl was almost covered by the breads haha

They do have wine as well.

And for the desserts... let's take a closer look...

The blueberry cheesecake cost like $28 if i did not remember wrongly. All of these look delicious... ...

Oh my god, each of them looked like a masterpiece.... ...

The foods were neatly display over the counter. So tempted to try those pastries.

Xiong and i ordered our own foods. I had a Simply Scrambled Eggs with Salmon and Americano. Xiong had a Cappuccino and Egg Benedict.

His hearty brunch

I couldn't finish my scrambled eggs as the potion was big (for me). Though the bread was hard but it was tasty (perhaps not suitable to those who can't bite and chew well). The smoked salmon was good.

Xiong was able to finish his Egg Benedict and it gave him a fulling effect till work.

It would be a nice place to chill during a raining day i guess. But guys, if you have the time, you can try to make a trip down to Baker and Cook to try their brunch. They have a brunch menu online, or otherwise, you can click here to find out more.

It would be best if i had tried any of those cakes :(

These few days i've been an active blogger, posting posts after posts! There are some other which i have yet to give my review on but i shall work harder to post all of them up by this week!

And yeah, one little quiz here:

What goes up but never comes down?

Don't have to think so much. The answer can relate to all of us.

Answer is AGE.

Okay everyone, face it. You cannot escape from coming old. Well, i am in my mid 20s soon (Oh God!) and i know that all mid 20s will go through some sort of crisis. But its alright, i have friends and boyfriend going through with me right now. That's the great thing of having friends. You hang around with the people of same age group who grew up together with and they know all sorts of embarrassing things you did in your life.

And we meet up on every birthdays! This year... at

Heard of this cafe from Xiong's friends that Choupinette serves one of the best egg benedict in Singapore. As a lover of egg benedict, Xiong and I decided to check out last weekend.

They opened at 8:00am in the morning. I met my sis and jie fu after they had finished check-up. As it was drizzling, Xiong and I were late. The cafe was easily located next to Coronation Plaza. It was pretty small but there wasn't lots of patrons at 9am.

The cafe is elegantly decorated in English cottage style (I feel) with breads, Chou Chou around you. It is very hard not to miss those eye-catching pastry. They look damned good that you feel like having a taste of all the cakes and breads.

Wide variety of breads to choose from.

I did not manage to take a photo of the menu but their price range was about $20+ for the mains. The set meal comes with a main course, fruit juice and coffee or chocolate.

Focus on the bread. It looks very normal but once I tasted it, my impression of that bread changed totally o.o

Here comes my chocolate and grapefruit juice!

After filling our stomach, my sis and i walked over to look at the pastry and breads. Each and every piece of them are so tempting. My sis bought quite a number of breads home for breakfast and some chou chou to satisfy her sweet tooth.

How to resist?!

*Mouth-watering*

See the thick layer of chocolate~~

Tiramisu  for dine in only

As the cafe doesn't take in reservation during weekend, one might have to wait a little while during lunch hour.

If you are one bread-lover, do try Choupinette which serves all day breakfast, brunch, lunch and tea.

Hello guys! Back to Cafe Hunt! I have been to some cafes around Singapore recently. Though i had only managed to explore a few, i shall still blog and post photos of what I had there... ...

And this time, exploring neighborhood cafes:

NOM Cafe(No Other Meaning)

Nowadays, we do not have to travel far to get to cafes as many owners are setting up cafes around neighborhood. I found this cafe through Xiong's sister-in-law and surprisingly, it is located just few bus stops away from my house. NOM is one of the cafe which served rainbow cake and i am obviously there for their cakes! ( Who doesn't love colourful stuffs?)

It was a five minutes drive and Xiong parked his car just outside Macpherson Community Centre. NOM cafe was opened in February this year and it is only about 4 months old.
