It was back dated almost 1 month ago when it was a festive season. During that period, it was 5 full days of holiday where all of us would visit our own family (especially hometown in Malaysia). Xiong's mum was from Malaysia and she would go back to celebrate CNY with her family. This year, Xiong, his brother, sister in law and me went together to visit his mum at her place.

It was an impromptu activity since it was rare that all of us were available.

Journey to Pengerang

Pengerang is a small town located near Johor. It is about 2 hours route trip (depending on road condition) from Singapore Custom. It was a pleasant drive as we drove through the windy route, passing by huge area of plantations and barren land. I kept myself wide awake throughout the journey as it was my first time visiting his mum hometown. I was really excited.

As it was a one way route, we had hard time over taking the other cars who were speeding. To make the matter worst, some lorries turned into your lane and was cruising at 80km/hr. Oh well, too bad! We were only able to follow behind those lorries. However, all of us were finding the best chance to over one another haha.

After 3 hours of drive, we finally reach Pengarang. Before we went knocking to his uncle's house, we decided to stop by Ostrich Farm for a short tour. The ticket was RM18 per adult. Xiong's brother wasn't interested in Ostrich, so he was the only one waiting outside while the rest of us went in for a visit.

Beside looking at ostrich, they served their meat and egg. How on earth would i dare to eat them after touring the farm?! I wouldn't have the heart to eat them. Also, these delicacies are just not my cup of tea.

 Entering the farm... ...

They segregate the young ostriches from the adult. The picture above are ostriches which were 3 weeks old. They were pecking the wooden, metal grills non stop. If you put your hand near, they will peck your hands too. The uncle at the farm told me that it was okay to let them peck as it doesn't hurt. Then he demonstrates.... He was enthusiastically encouraging us to let them peck.

Xiong was brave enough to do so... and he led me doing it too. Sure enough, it was painless but the feeling of being peck is definitely weird and beyond description...

This little guy trying to 抢镜头。

They are ever ready to peck your hands. See the 2 of them which were aiming for his fingers.

Happy ostrich smiling for the camera

The adult ostrich are really huge! I do feel intimidated when they were looking at me, felt like that would attack me any time haha. I do hear horror stories of them being aggressive towards humans which explained why I wouldn't go too close to them initially.

Selfie with the ostrich. They love taking selfie too!

There were 2 ostriches which were outside roaming freely. For a while, i thought their ostriches went loose and i had almost wanted to tell the staffs to enclose them. After which i realised that they were let loose on purpose, so that tourist can take photos with them. The ostrich were specifically trained so they were not aggressive at all.

Manage to take a photo with one of them. My pose wasn't natural as i was prepared to run anytime if the animal went berserk.

After 1 hour, we went to meet Chris and headed straight to his uncle's house after that.

They had a huge front and backyard. Best for children who needed ample space to run.

There were 10 over dogs coming to greet us when we got off the car. If you are afraid of dogs, you might want to avoid or run away as far as you can. Those were stray dogs but were kept by Xiong's uncle who took great care of them well.

The hometown is serene, One of the best place to dwell if you want to get far from city, far from those highly populated area. No wonder his brother loved this place. I can see why.

The puppy which was always bullied by its peers

His mum was really happy to see us coming. After exchanging greetings, we sat at the backyard, enjoying the breeze and conversations, which we did not expect such quality time together.

Big boss on hammock

Besides us is a mini lotus pond, though no frogs on the lotus leaves but its presence does make the whole place tranquil. There were a few hammocks tied to the trees but i did not lie on any of them. I had an image to maintain haha.

Also, just located next to their old house, there is a fish farm too, breeding marble goby. If you know soon hock, you will know marble goby is the English word for it. This type of fish is expensive and could fetch a high price depending on its weight. During dinner, his uncle caught 2 of it and requested the restaurant to cook. It was the best marble goby i had so far!

Inside the mini fish farm. I believed i was looking at the spider web.

A photo to remember this place as I heard that the government is taking over the land for other uses.

Took a close up selfie.

After which, we had dinner at...

According to his mum, this restaurant served the most affordable seafood around that area, The food was really palatable and good!!

The fish which was caught just now

After dinner, all of us went back for Blackjack. Blackjack definitely helped us to pass time quickly, I wasn't good in gambling so I do not really know how to play or calculate the points. It came to the point that I do not know what to do even when I had 2 aces. But anyway, it was always fun spending time with his family.

Happy hours doesn't last long. At 10pm, the four of us left Pengerang, feeling happy and satisfied, spending a day with their family during CNY.

It doesn't feel good when technology died on me after i typed a long post.

I am getting more workload as more business coming to us. The 9-6pm happy hours are already over when business expand. There are definitely more to add ......

October is a month of busy-ness as my beloved sis is getting married next weekend. There are lots of things to do but we haven get anything done yet. My room is very much still in a mess with things piling up everywhere. Hope that my off day can do some wonders but i doubt it would change much.
Weekend was over pretty quick and let me re-cap the weekend...

Saturday was a fine good day as i had agreed to go jb with dear and his colleagues. In the wee hour, i meant 6.30am, dear woke me up, telling me to get changed as we need to leave at 7.30am. I was good and i got prepared by 7.15an. However, the weather was very nasty to us. It rained so heavily that we thought that most of the activity had to be cancelled.

We were punctual at the meeting place where his colleague picked us up from the bustop. His colleague,ah heng, drove us and colleagues to JB. There were a total of  29 people on 4 separate cars going to the same place. It took about 45 minutes to clear the custom. It was considered fast according to ah heng.

We met the rest at shell petrol station before going to have bak tuk teh at soon fa. Our brunch was yummy and satisfying. Then, we headed to our 2nd destination: Go-Cart.

The go cart was located somewhere quite very off the city as we needed to pass by the platation. The 4 cars winded through the small bumpy road, travelling at only 30km/h. There were stones, pitholes, cows and abandoned houses. It was quite a sight.

After the long treacherous road, we finally reached the place.

The price for each adult is RM35 for 10 minutes ride. It was so cheap! Imagine they charged playing the price of $35 in Singapore dollar per adult. The circuit was bigger and challenging.

Dear played 2 rounds of it as i know he quite like it. As for me, im not up again because it was my second day of menses.

If you are interested, this is the place:  Plentong Karting Circuit Lot 1195 Jalan Bunga Matahari Taman Plentong Bahru Johor Bahru.

It is worth to visit again!

After playing a few rounds, we decided to leave for another place:  paintball.

We grabbed some pau on the way and were ready to go to the battlefield.

The boys came well prepared, with their gears and uniform on. They were like so ever ready to play this game and get bruised. All off them took their guns and load bullets like a pro.

And me?! I sat there with May and Candy to look after the things. It was quite a good experience feeding blood to the mosquitos. Haha!

The guys came back with paints splattered at their helmet and some welcomed brusies.

After few hours of play, they returned their gears and went for a bath near the battlefield. It was refreshing after the bath! A day ended with dinner at cedar point and off we returned to sin!

The next day was kinda slow as i accompanied my sis to her trail make up.

Adding 2 layers of fake eyelashes had made her eye electrifying. I should try putting 2 layers of eyelashes too!!

I will try that one day!!

Signing off!

Hi guys, back to my blogging days..

Its 21st May and 6 more days to my pay day :D Waiting for my pay day. I had a good weekend last week. Let me re-cap what happened over the weekend.

I had a normal Friday as dear and i had decided to meet on Saturday. Dear was working midnight shift and it was really tiring for him. On Saturday, Dear and i had went to HDB hub to look at our future house structure and location. It was indeed a very happy day, to let your imaginations go wild on your ideal house.

To be frank, and announcing , we got our queue number. But let nature take its course :) Then after looking at the model houses, dear and i went to have our eyebrows done before going down to ah po house.

Seeing my granny deteriorates everyday, it really aches me a lot. She is my loved granny as she doted us a lot since we were young. She will always protect us from harm from scolding. She will always feed us the best and yakult.

Well, after going granny house, we headed to dear house as he really needed a rest.

On Sunday, I met dear at late afternoon, only to eat brunch at 4pm. We traveled to few places in Singapore: Hatch. But it was closed when we were there. So, we ended up eating at the Food for Thought at Botanic Garden. The food was really nice and appetizing. The ambiance was nice and romantic too. I liked there.

On Monday, we went to JB!! Of course we went there coming back with bags full of foodies.

A day in JB

Hi guys, back to my blogging days.. Its 21st May and 6 more days to my pay day :D Waiting for my pay day. I had a good weekend last week....
Another week past. Im still jobless. I will be go for my fourth interview tomorrow and have no idea how many more interviews are coming up. Dear encouraged to me go for more interviews to gain more experience on answering their questions.

Last week, dear and i went to watch this movie: Prometheus. If you had read the synopsis, i guess you will know what;'s the story about. I had expected something better out of it but... it turns out to be the other way. Most importantly, i really couldn't link those incidents logically. It is totally MNS: Make No Sense. At all. Felt that i had picked the wrong movie and wasted dear's $20. We shall catch a better movie soon!

On our way to watch that show happily!

Before catching our movie, i met dear at orchard to buy my clarins moisturiser. Thanks Dear!! For the moisturiser ^^. Im so happy to be using Clarins back again. The lady was generous enough to give me lots of samples! And of course i asked her for toner for Xiong too :x Hehe. After that, we had our dinner at Eighteen Chefs. It was a simple and yet delicious dinner. Dear had it the first time and he was satisfied with the meal.

Our dinner!

Days after, i went JB with my mum and dad on Saturday. Its been a long time since we had gone out together. Been years,,, years since we went out. Mum had wanted to get more coffees as our stocks are low. So that day, we took a cab down to KSL.

We had brucnh at some hong kong cafe again. Say cheese to the camera!

Mum and Dad!

Almond Tea! Its nice

The next day, i met dear, have a day out! Was very happy to see him.

Me and dear

We went to eat desserts at chinatown!

We ordered a lot of desserts and ate to our max. After eating, we went to bedok point to sing. There's a promotion call the postal code promotion. People staying in east and central has privileges. Just present your postal code and you will enjoy $12 nett from 7pm to 10pm. Cool right! Haha

Today is another JB trip day but this time, i went with Xiong and his colleagues. We did not take a lot of photos because all of us were enjoying ourselves so, less hassles if none of us took photos. A day to eat and shop in JB. We had Bak Kut Teh for brunch at a very famous place (But i don't know where!)

Dear and his friend

Few hours later.... Its tea break time!!

OMG! So sinful!!

On the way home was a tiring and lng journey. Crossing the customs is already so tiring, but what's more tiring was travelling back to east area. I was totally worn out, while waiting for bus, walking to bus top and more walking. Dear was tired too. He was moving back and forth, right and left on the bus with his eyes closed. While im there to pull him in case he fall off the chair. After he had awoken, he put me on his chest so that i can rest and of course, running his fingers through my hair to comfort me, which i love most. Thank for everything my love. Muacks!

Taken on the way to Kranji mrt this morning. Love you sweetie! Thank you <3
